- 1 Can canned black beans, rinsed and drained - 1 (15-ounce can), rinsed and drained
- 0.5 Cup frozen peas - 1/2 (cup)
- 0.5 Cup shredded carrots - 1/2 (cup), shredded
- 1 Tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce - 1 (tablespoon)
- 2 Teaspoon canola oil - 2 (teaspoons)
- 2 Tablespoon water - 2 (tablespoons)
- 0.25 Teaspoon garlic powder - 1/4 (teaspoon)
- 0.25 Teaspoon onion powder - 1/4 (teaspoon)
Instructions
Combine rice, beans, and vegetables
1. *Rinse and drain the black beans*, then add them to a microwave-safe bowl with *the rice, peas, and shredded carrots*.
Season the mixture
2. Add *low-sodium soy sauce, canola oil, water, garlic powder, and onion powder* to the bowl, then *stir gently* until the rice and vegetables are evenly coated.
Microwave until steaming
3. Cover the bowl loosely with a microwave-safe plate and *microwave on high for 2 minutes* until the mixture begins to steam.
Stir and finish heating
