FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about PlumTally: what it costs, which grocery stores it supports, how meal planning works, and how shopping lists reach the store.
What is PlumTally?
PlumTally is a web app for meal planning and grocery shopping, with a plant-based focus. You can browse recipes and curated menus, build a meal plan, turn that plan into a consolidated grocery list, and send the list to your local grocery store for checkout.
Is PlumTally free?
Yes. PlumTally has no subscription or paid tier, and creating an account is free.
Which grocery stores does PlumTally support?
PlumTally currently supports Kroger. You select a local Kroger store, and PlumTally uses that store to price your ingredients and to receive your shopping list at checkout.
Do I need a grocery store account to use PlumTally?
No. You can browse recipes and menus, save recipes, and build meal plans without connecting a store. You only need to connect your Kroger account when you want to send a cart to the store for checkout.
Is PlumTally only for plant-based recipes?
No. PlumTally leans heavily plant-based and that is where most of the catalog sits, but the catalog also includes recipes that are not plant-based. You can search and filter by plant-based and other dietary tags to narrow results to what you want.
Can I see what a recipe costs before I cook it?
Yes. Once you select a local store, PlumTally shows ingredient pricing and the cost per serving for a recipe, so you can compare options before you commit to a plan.
Can I save recipes for later?
Yes. Save any recipe to your Recipe Box and organize saved recipes into folders for different occasions.
Can I plan meals for a whole week?
Yes. The meal planner lets you build a plan across days and meal periods, then turns the whole plan into one consolidated shopping list instead of a separate list per recipe.
Can I plan meals with my household?
Yes. Household sharing lets you coordinate meal planning with the people you shop and cook for, so you are working from the same plan and the same list.
