Cook this recipe
- ripe bananas-3 large
- rolled oats-2 cups
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Keep kids away from the oven while it is hot or preheating.
In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until mostly smooth with a few small soft pieces remaining.
Add the rolled oats and stir well until the mixture is evenly combined.
Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes so the oats can soften and absorb some banana moisture.
Scoop the mixture into 16 small mounds on the baking sheet, then flatten gently into bite-size rounds.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the bites are set and lightly golden around the edges.
Use oven mitts when handling the hot baking sheet, and keep children away from it.
Let the bites cool for 5 minutes before serving so they firm up and are safe for kids to handle.
Check that the bites are cool enough before serving to children.
