Cook this recipe
- unsweetened soy milk-1.5 cups
- rolled oats-1 cup
- unsweetened applesauce-0.5 cups
- ripe banana-1 medium
- ground cinnamon-0.5 teaspoons
- vanilla extract-0.5 teaspoons
- fine salt-0.13 teaspoons
Peel the banana into the bowl and mash with a fork until mostly smooth, then add rolled oats, applesauce, soy milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
Stir until the oats are fully moistened and the banana is evenly mixed in.
Microwave uncovered on high for 2 minutes 30 seconds, then carefully stir and check that the oats look creamy and thickened.
Use a microwave-safe bowl with room for bubbling.
The bowl and steam can be hot, so use care when removing it from the microwave.
Let the oats stand for 1 minute so they can finish thickening and cool to a kid-safe warm temperature before serving.
Stir well and check the temperature before serving to children.
