Cook this recipe
- unsweetened almond milk-1.25 cups
- rolled oats-1 cup
- hulled and diced strawberries-1 cup
- chia seeds-2 tbsp
- maple syrup-2 tbsp
- matcha powder-1 tsp
- vanilla extract-0.5 tsp
- fine sea salt-0.13 tsp
Rinse the strawberries under cool water, hull and dice the berries, and set aside a few pieces for topping.
Wash strawberries well before hulling and dicing.
Keep fingers tucked away from the knife blade while hulling and dicing.
In a medium bowl, whisk the almond milk, matcha powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until the matcha is fully dispersed and the mixture looks smooth and pale green.
Stir in the rolled oats, chia seeds, and diced strawberries until the oats are evenly moistened and the chia seeds are spread throughout.
Divide the mixture between 2 jars, cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours until the oats are creamy and spoonable.
Refrigerate the oats promptly after mixing and keep the jars covered.
Stir well, top with the reserved strawberries, and enjoy cold as a make-ahead breakfast with gentle matcha flavor.
Discard the oats if they develop an off smell, unusual color, or visible mold.
