Cook this recipe
- vegetarian baked beans-1 can
- white sandwich bread-4 slices
- unsalted butter-2 tablespoons
- ketchup-1 tablespoon
- light brown sugar-1 teaspoon
- yellow mustard-1 teaspoon
- smoked paprika-1/4 teaspoon
- ground black pepper-1/8 teaspoon
Add the vegetarian baked beans, ketchup, light brown sugar, yellow mustard, smoked paprika, and ground black pepper to a small saucepan.
Warm over medium-low heat, stirring often, until the beans are hot and gently bubbling, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Heat the beans until steaming hot before serving, and stir often so the sauce does not scorch on the bottom of the pan.
While the beans heat, toast the white sandwich bread until golden and crisp.
Spread the toast with unsalted butter while it is still hot.
Handle the hot toast carefully while buttering it.
Place the buttered toast on plates and spoon the hot baked beans evenly over the top. Serve right away.
Use care when handling the hot saucepan and hot beans.
